Sustainable and Responsible Procurement Policy

LAST Technology S.r.l. (hereinafter also referred to as the “Company”), with reference to its entire supply chain for the design and manufacture of process machinery for the pharmaceutical industry, believes that the excellence and quality of its solutions are closely dependent on the quality of the materials, components and services purchased, as well as on the responsibility of its business partners.

For this reason, the Company bases its procurement decisions on the principles of quality, transparency, environmental sustainability and social responsibility, taking into account not only the technical and economic characteristics of supplies, but also their impact on the environment and people.

  1. Quality, Traceability and Material Compliance

Quality and safety are the Company’s highest priorities, given the highly regulated sector in which it operates. When selecting suppliers, preference is given to products and components supported by comprehensive technical documentation, with particular attention to raw material traceability and the suitability of materials intended for pharmaceutical processes:

  • Raw Material Traceability: For primary metallic materials (sheets, pipes and profiles), the Company requires and verifies the availability of the relevant 3.1 Inspection Certificates in accordance with EN 10204.
  • Process Components: Components in direct contact with the product or process utilities (such as gaskets, valves, sealing elements and flexible hoses) are selected exclusively from products supplied with Technical Data Sheets, Declarations of Conformity and appropriate certifications, such as FDA or USP Class VI.
  1. Environmental Sustainability and Energy Efficiency

In its procurement activities, the Company pays particular attention to environmental aspects, integrating environmental protection criteria from the component selection stage (e.g. motors, pumps, valves and instrumentation):

  • Energy Performance and Consumption: Preference is given to solutions characterised by high energy efficiency and reduced utility consumption, helping to minimise the carbon footprint of the machinery throughout its entire lifecycle at the end customer’s premises.
  • Lifecycle and Recyclability: Positive consideration is given to components designed to ensure long-term durability, ease of maintenance and maximum recyclability at the end of their useful life (such as stainless steel), thereby reducing overall resource consumption and the environmental impact associated with production and transportation.
  1. Promotion of the Local Supply Chain and Equal Opportunities

LAST Technology recognises the value of the technical expertise available within the local area and, where quality, technical and economic requirements are equivalent, favours cooperation with local suppliers. This commitment contributes to the development of the local precision engineering and plant engineering sectors, while also reducing the environmental impact associated with logistics.

The Company promotes transparent, impartial and fair business relationships, ensuring equal opportunities in accessing procurement opportunities and supporting local entrepreneurship, without discrimination based on the size, ownership or other irrelevant characteristics of supplier companies.

  1. Ethical Assessment and Risk Prevention throughout the Supply Chain

In line with its corporate policies on human rights and equal opportunities, LAST Technology expects these principles to be upheld throughout its supply chain:

  • Inclusiveness and Fair Business Relationships: The Company ensures equal opportunities in the selection of procurement partners and promotes relationships with suppliers that provide their employees with safe and lawful working conditions, free from discriminatory practices.
  • Supplier Reputation Screening: As part of its supplier qualification and renewal procedures, LAST Technology collects and assesses reputational information from publicly available sources to identify any litigation or reports relating to irregular employment practices, health and safety violations or discrimination.
  • Partner Awareness: The Company shares this policy with its key business partners, encouraging them to promote the same ethical and social responsibility standards throughout their respective supply chains.
  1. Continuous Improvement

This policy provides the framework for LAST Technology’s procurement decisions and is periodically reviewed by Management with the aim of progressively improving purchasing practices, promoting cooperation with responsible suppliers and increasingly integrating environmental and social sustainability criteria into its activities.
