CPE & CPE-W TYPE

cGMP CLOSURE PROCESSING EQUIPMENT

The CPE and CPE-W (Closure Processing Equipment) units are designed for the treatment of pharmaceutical closures, such as rubber caps, pistons and seals, plastic parts, aluminium caps, and combi-seals. These units perform the complete treatment of parts until they are ready to be used (RTU) or ready to be sterilized (RTS). The product can then be unloaded directly into an RTP or sterile bag. This process is performed in controlled conditions using Laminar Air Flow (LAF).

Predefined and custom programmes for all needs. The machine process is developed by our Automation department in compliance with current regulations/standards and the type of load.
The main processing phases are listed below:

  • Pre-washing
  • Extraction (if required)
  • Washing (with or without detergents)
  • Rinsing (the number of repetitions can be selected)
  • Silicone coating (if required)
  • Sterilization by means of saturated steam (CPE model only)
  • Drying
  • Cooling

What sets these machines apart is their ability to separate the load into uniformly sized compartments (hoppers/baskets), with uniform capacity. This results in the following benefits:

  • Elimination of excessive build-up of material during the processing phases.
  • Elimination of mechanical stress on the material.
  • Optimisation of the washing phase.
  • Uniform silicone distribution.
  • Optimisation of the CIP phase.
  • Optimisation of the sterilization phase.
  • Material high drying level
  • Highly flexibility product unloading methods.
  • Double-wall circular cross-section chamber.
  • Full flat-type jacket to uniformly and quickly heat the load.
  • Two 1.5” tri-clamp ferrules are welded to the chamber for validation purposes (temperature uniformity mapping and pressure tests)
  • Piping and air ducts made entirely of 316L stainless steel with sanitary fittings (tri-clamp ferrules and hygienic flanges)
  • Chamber with perfect drainage.
  • The chamber is placed on a base that has been designed specifically to evenly distribute the weight on the floor.
  • All of the chamber’s internal surfaces are mechanically polished and then undergo chemical degreasing, pickling and passivation treatments. Surface finish ≤ 0.35 micron.
  • The unloading-side door hopper has been designed to be completely sealed to the cleanroom by a ‘bio-seal’ interface.
  • Selection of fully automatic product unloading options.
